Enrollment Process

Enrolling for a Certified Document Services (CDS) certificate consists of the following steps:

1. Receiving a USB Token – GeoTrust will mail a blank USB token that you’ll download your CDS certificate onto. A user’s guide with detailed instructions on how to prepare for and complete the CDS Certificate download process including driver installation will be included with the token shipment.
   
   
2. Email Notification - An email with links to download both the USB Token Drivers and CDS Digital Certificate will be sent shortly after identity verification. DO NOT START THIS PROCESS UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE USB token.
   
   
3. Installation Readiness - The following is needed in preparation of Certificate Enrollment:
   1. access to the internet to acquire the necessary drivers and obtain the CDS certificate
   2. close out all non essential applications prior to starting the process as you’ll be prompted to re-boot.
   3. Have the one-time use Enrollment PIN that was provided at Registration handy, you’ll need this to download your CDS certificate.
   4. Establish a Token Passphrase that will be used to protect your certificate stored on your USB token. GeoTrust recommends selecting a 8 mixed character password (please not passphrases are case sensitive). You will need to remember this passphrase each time you use your CDS certificate
