Registration Process
Registering for a Certified Document Services (CDS) certificate consists of the following steps:
- Review Certificate Practice Statement – The on-line request form requires the CDS Subscriber the terms of the My Credentials for Adobe Acrobat Certificate Practice Statement (CPS). This CPS details the obligations of all parties involved in the issuance and use of a CDS Certificate. The CPS is located

- Filling out an on-line request form- GeoTrust will collect information about you and your Organization (if applicable) needed to begin the Registration process
- Collect and fax information used for Identity Checking – Depending whether you’re registering for a CDS certificate as an individual or an individual with an organizational affiliation, you will be required to submit certain proof of identity documentation to GeoTrust
- Identity Verification – 5 – 7 business days will be required for GeoTrust to verify the identity information provided in step 3
- Email notification – Subsequent to successful identity verification, you’ll receive an email detailing the steps required to complete the CDS certificate enrollment
