How it works
To obtain and use a Code Signing Credential from GeoTrust, follow these steps:
- Step 1 – Enroll for a code signing credential using our online enrollment process
- Step 2 - Have your identity verified by GeoTrust via a simple, but trusted, verification process
- Step 3 – Pick up your code signing certificate
- Step 4 – Use your digital certificate to digitally sign your code
- Step 5 – Post your signed code on your site so customers can download as normal
- Step 6 – When customers download your signed content or code, their browser will verify the signature
- Step 7 – The customer can view the certificate to verify the identity of the author who developed the code
