Combining the speed and convenience of our patented provisioning technology with ubiquitous connectivity across 99%+ of all browsers and most popular mobile devices and the functionality to secure multiple server names, Power Server ID is an ideal solution for companies to save time and money in acquiring and managing multiple certificates.
Power Server ID is a global digital certificate that enables up to 256-bit encryption for up to 4 server names with 1 certificate. Use these certificates to instill trust and confidence with your global customers and partners when transmitting sensitive data across the Web or mobile devices by providing them with the highest level of browser compatibility and web security for mobile and networked environments.

Power Server ID certificates can secure up to 4 server names that reside on the same physical server and share the same second level domain name. When ordering your Power Server ID certificate you have the option to provide 3 alternative server names to be included in the certificate. The certificate we issue to you will contain these server names, along with the server name listed in the common name of the CSR you submitted, in the Subject Alternative Name fields.
For example, if you need to secure the following server names:
- www.yourdomain.com
- secure.yourdomain.com
- mail.secure.yourdomain.com
- anything.download.secure.yourdomain.com
and all of these server names are hosted on the same server box, you can purchase and install one Power Server ID certificate issued to one of the server names and containing the others in the Subject Alternative Name field to secure all these sites. The number of server names contained in the Subject Alternative Name field is limited to 3. If you need to span the Power Server ID certificate across multiple physical servers, you may purchase additional licenses.
With our patented automated process for vetting and issuing certificates, we will typically authenticate your web site and business, and issue a Power Server ID certificate in 10 minutes or less. This process verifies that a certificate purchaser has appropriate administrative rights to a web server's domain. This business registration profile initially contains the basic self-reported information from your CSR your Domain, Company Name, Division, Country, State and City.
Plus, with Power Server ID you get the GeoTrust Smart Seal. Our patented smart seal technology provides fast, reliable and user-friendly web site identity authentication, and instant proof to your customers that your site can be trusted. The Power Server ID Smart Seal is dynamically-generated when someone accesses your site, and display a live time and date stamp. Users can click on a site seal to display your business registration information.
Power Server ID provides you with our most comprehensive set of support, warranty and reissuance coverage for an additional level of confidence and peace-of-mind:
- Installation support - Our customer support plan includes one-on-one assistance with generating a certificate request, completing online enrollment and installing the resulting certificate.
- Premium level warranty - Our insurance policy protects you up to $250K against economic loss due to theft, corruption or loss of use of an SSL certificate or private key.
- Unlimited reissues - In the event your server crashes, or your private keys are lost or inadvertently deleted, we offer a self-service reissuance process to replace your Power Server ID certificates free of charge.
- Fully owned roots. GeoTrust owns all of its roots, and as a result, all of our certificates offer the highest level of stability. Unlike other companies which issue certificates off chained roots or license roots from third parties, GeoTrust is able to offer customers an assurance of root stability throughout the lifetime of every certificate.
- Unlimited, free self-service reissues. GeoTrust provides a quick and easy way to reissue any certificate at no charge. Certificates may need to be reissued when upgrading or changing server software or operating platform; if migrating your site from one server to another, or If an existing private key has been lost, destroyed or inadvertently overwritten. After re-validating certificate information online, the new certificate is issued immediately and is valid from the date of reissue until the original expiration date.
- Competitive trade-in program. GeoTrust provides a simple way to upgrade from another vendor’s certificates or transition multiple certificates from disparate certificate vendors. The competitive trade-in program allows you to retain the full value of existing certificate investments, by adding the remaining validity period of any active vendor certificates to your new GeoTrust certificates — up to 12 additional free months depending on when your current certificate expires.
- Multi-year certificates. Power Server ID is available in multi-year validity periods at significant cost savings. Plus, you avoid the process of renewing certificates every year.
- Automatic renewal reminders and early renewal options. With Power Server ID, administrators are automatically notified when their certificates are close to expiration, so certificates are always valid. GeoTrust also allows administrators to renew certificates up to 90 days early and receive up to three months credit on new certificates.
