Installing your Web Server Certificate

Your certificate will be sent to you by email contained in the body of the email message.

Copy the certificate from the body of the email and paste it into a text editor (such as Notepad) to create text files.

Installing your Web Server Certificate

Right-click on your key ring.

Click on box Trusted roots in the lower left corner.

Click on Add Trusted Root

Paste the following block of text into a text editor, and save as Equifax Secure Certificate Authority.txt. This block of text is our Trusted Root.

The root certificate can be downloaded from http://www.geotrust.com/resources/root_certificates/index.htm. Please contact support for advice on which root you will need.

At the Files of type box select All files. Select the file Equifax Secure Certificate Authority.txt saved above, and click “Open”

Right click on your key ring that displays the yellow question mark.
Select Attach Certificate.

Select Files of type All files and open the certificate file returned by GeoTrust in your email.

Notice that your keyring is now green and ready to use.

Click Yes to update the server settings.

Restart your server.

Test your certificate by connecting to your server.
Use the https protocol directive (e.g. https://your server/) to indicate you wish to use secure HTTP.

Note: The padlock icon on your Web browser will be displayed in the locked position if you have set up your site properly.
