Description: Email claims to be from the UK National Lottery (UK). The scam is to collect a shipping payment from you in exchange for a "lottery prize." The scam offers two options for shipping - either direct via Federal Express, UPS or Post Office Mail or via Bank Transfer. The email states that the prize "is protected by hardcover insurance policy by GEOTRUST INSURANCE COMPANY."

Please be advised that GeoTrust sells identity verification products and trust services for e-business. GeoTrust is not an insurance company and is in no way connected to the UK National Lottery.

Recommended Action: It does not appear to be a legitimate offer. We would advise that you do not respond and/or do not send any money or personal information.

GeoTrust Action: GeoTrust has been contacted by many individuals who have received similar emails, and we are working towards tracking down and contacting the senders of these communications.
