DigiCert is now validating and issuing all GeoTrust SSL/TLS certificates. Your existing GeoTrust certificates issued before June 1, 2016 remain trusted through spring 2018 and do not require immediate replacement during the busy holiday season.
What This Means for You
- New certificates: All new GeoTrust certificate requests are now processed through DigiCert’s validation systems
- Existing certificates: No immediate action required – plan your certificate replacements for after the New Year
- Spring 2018 deadline: Certificates issued before June 1, 2016 will need replacement by then to maintain browser trust

You can continue using your familiar GeoTrust ordering interface while DigiCert handles the backend validation and issuance. Our teams have worked extensively to ensure minimal disruption to your operations.
If you’re planning a holiday lockdown to protect your systems during peak season, that’s perfectly fine – your current GeoTrust certificates will remain trusted, giving you time to transition certificates when it’s most convenient for your organization.
